Apple announced iPhone 17 on September 9, 2025. The standard model launched with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, the A19 chip, 256GB or 512GB of storage, and a United States starting price of $799. Preorders opened September 12 and first-wave availability began September 19. [1][2]
The display brought ProMotion to the standard model, with an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz and an Always-On mode that can reduce the refresh rate to 1Hz. Apple rated peak outdoor brightness at 3,000 nits and introduced Ceramic Shield 2 with a new anti-reflective coating. [1]
The rear system uses a 48MP Fusion Main camera with an optical-quality 2x option and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera that also supports macro photography.
